Thresher Shark

Slashing its extraordinary tail, a thresher shark breaks free from the ocean.

There’s no doubt in my mind that the thresher is one of the most spectacular fish in the sea.

the Destroyer Sarsfield

Pursuing enemy submarines in the Far East, the destroyer Sarsfield (DD-837) rolls and pitches heavily during high seas.

Nothing Lives Long Except the Earth and the Mountains

The ice caps of the Pleistocene stretched as far south as New York and London. Roaming in herds across the vast expanses of boggy grasslands to the south was the Wooly Mammoth.

The Sea Witch

These vessels sailed every sea, carrying on through thick and thin, establishing records for speed almost equal to the steam ships of today. Built with long narrow hulls, these ships “clipped” over the waves rather than plough through, earning them the name ‘clipper’.

True Native

Jackalope

He has the characteristics of many animals but is closely related to none, a truly unique creature in the animal kingdom. Perhaps the most outstanding thing about the jackalope is its remarkable antlers, usually present in both sexes. Now believed to be extinct, countless jackalope once called the rolling prairies and great plains of North America home.

The client wanted a portrait of his father and his best friend fighting an exceptionally large dorado they had caught together. He had asked for an Old Man and the Sea feel. One of my favorites.
